Do you have Business Central experience? If so, our client is InSearch of a full-time Business Central Architect/Engineer in Omaha to lead our process re-engineering and deliver an ERP platform that is scalable, well-governed, and adopted by the business. You will own solution architecture and be hands-on, configuring and extending Business Central, enabling reporting/insights with Power BI. Partner closely with Finance/Operations leaders, IT, and external vendors to redesign workflows, reduce manual work, and improve data quality and visibility.

Compensation: $135k-$165k annual salary

Responsibilities

Process Re-Engineering & Business Transformation (Lead)

  • Lead current-state to future-state process re-engineering across core workflows
  • Facilitate workshops to identify bottlenecks, control gaps, and automation opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into practical system designs, prioritizing standard functionality before customization.
  • Drive change management: training approach, adoption support, SOPs, and continuous improvement.

Business Central Architecture & Delivery

  • Architect end-to-end solutions on Dynamics 365 Business Central (data, security, environments, integrations, extensions, reporting).
  • Configure Business Central (dimensions, posting setup, approvals/workflows, permissions, role centers, etc.).
  • Establish standards for environments, release management, documentation, and governance.

Engineering / Customization & Extensions

  • Deliver enhancements through the right approach:
  • Rapid, controlled low-code changes using Simple Object Designer

· Deeper/complex requirements using AL extensions (or managing a partner/team to build them)

  • Design and support integrations via APIs/web services and middleware as needed (CRM, WMS, eCommerce, EDI, banking, etc.).
  • Lead data migration efforts: mapping, cleansing, import routines, reconciliations, and cutover planning.

Reporting & Insights (Power BI)

  • Design the reporting strategy and build/guide:
  • semantic models/datasets, refresh schedules, security (RLS), and governance

executive dashboards and operational reporting tied to ERP processes

  • Ensure reporting aligns with process ownership and KPI definitions.

Operational Excellence

  • Own production stability: troubleshooting, performance tuning, root-cause analysis, and support handoffs.
  • Create and maintain solution documentation: architecture diagrams, runbooks, configuration guides, and SOPs.
  • Manage vendors/partners effectively with clear requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria.

Required Qualifications

  • Business Central experience REQUIRED
  • Strong experience implementing and supporting Business Central (or NAV with modern BC experience).
  • Proven ability to lead process re-engineering (workshop facilitation, redesign, controls, adoption).
  • Hands-on ERP delivery skills: configuration, troubleshooting, integration coordination, data migration/cutover.
  • Experience using Power BI for ERP reporting (datasets/models, refresh, governance, stakeholder-facing dashboards).
  • Working knowledge of customization approaches and lifecycle practices (sandboxes, release discipline, testing).
