Our client is InSearch of a VxRail HCI Residency Engineer to support an onsite deployment at Quantico, VA. This role is focused on planning and deploying DellEMC VxRail, providing hands-on VMware administration, and delivering knowledge transfer / limited training to customer administrators. Strong Linux (Red Hat) skills are required.
Compensation: $70-$95 hourly based on experience
Responsibilities
- Lead onsite planning and deployment activities for DellEMC VxRail (HCI residency model).
- Perform core VMware administration tasks and support platform operations.
- Spin up and manage VMs (provisioning, configuration, basic lifecycle management).
- Provide knowledge transfer to customer teams and deliver limited day-to-day VxRail admin training (D2D support).
- Demonstrate platform features and functionality to stakeholders and operational teams.
- Support basic troubleshooting across the stack (HCI platform, VMware layer, and OS-level items as needed).
Required Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance (required to start)
- Strong Linux skills, specifically Red Hat (RHEL) administration experience
- Hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere (VM provisioning/operations, basic troubleshooting)
- Experience supporting or deploying DellEMC VxRail (or comparable HCI platforms)
- Comfortable delivering training/enablement and documenting procedures for handoff
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VMware Horizon (VDI)
- Experience assisting migrations of Windows Server / Domain Controllers
- Familiarity with CAC-enabled environments (for smoother access and authentication workflows)
